Carpool Chats with Deana Brown: An example of working with a CDFA®

Here is an example of the power of working with a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CDFA®

When working with Leigh, her goal was to keep the marital home and not pay her husband alimony.

While brainstorming, we came up with the idea of getting a home equity line of credit on the home so that she can offer her husband a lump sum. The added benefit to this is that she could pay this over time with the home equity line of credit and perhaps write off the interest on her tax return as a deduction.

Leigh was thrilled with this idea because it solved her two objectives: keeping the home and offering her husband cash upfront instead of paying him monthly over time.

This is just an example of the benefits of working with a CDFA® during your divorce. Everyone's situation is different and unique so it's best to get your own professional advice
